Tips for Toasting
For extra flavor, spread raw, shelled nuts in a single layer on
a baking sheet, and bake 5 -8 minutes at 350 degrees F. Stir nuts
once or twice. Nuts will continue to brown slightly after removing
them from the oven.

Salad
Serves 4
6 Tbs. orange juice
1 Tbs. balsamic vinegar
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
4 cups mixed salad greens
1/2 cup toasted mixed nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews, walnuts,
pecan halves, peanuts
1 apple, cored and thinly sliced
1 pear, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup crumbled Stilton
In a medium bowl, whisk together juice, vinegar, mustard, salt,
and pepper. Add greens and toss to coat. Divide salad among 4 plates.
Sprinkle nuts, apples, pears, raisins, and Stilton over each salad.
Serve immediately.

Magic Cookie Bars
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1-1/3 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. (325 degrees for glass dish) In
a 13 x 9-inch baking pan, melt margarine or butter in oven. Sprinkle
cracker crumbs over margarine; mix together and press into pan.
Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top evenly with
remaining ingredients; press down firmly. Bake 25 to 30 minutes
or until lightly browned. Cool thoroughly before cutting. Store
loosely covered at room temperature.
