Garden plots are available to Co-op members for a modest
fee. The garden has twenty plots, each measuring 20 feet
square. Members sign up for plots through the Co-op’s
Education Department in April. |
Gardeners
tend their plots with organic methods.
Many
grow a combination of vegetables, herbs, and flowers
in their space.
|
| In
true community spirit, friends and family drop by to check
on the garden’s progress, and “little sprouts” learn from
experienced gardeners. |
A
benefit of Community Gardening is the sharing of information.
“It’s like taking a class,” says one gardener. “You learn
so much from talking with other gardeners and looking
at their plots.” |
