We’re also pleased to announce that our incubator has hatched a chick! Little Village Sustainable Living Center opened its first storefront here and stayed until August 2002, when Greg and Ann Ryan realized that they were just too big for this nest. They have now set up shop on the north end of town, at 20 Rt. 100 North. We invite you to check out their new home.

Heather Masterton (left), the president of Clovis Point, has lived in Rochester, VT since 1989, and is an integral and energetic member of the community. Born just over the mountain, she grew up at Blueberry Hill in Goshen, VT. Heather has an extensive background in the banking industry, in hardware and software support, and in sales force automation. As she says, "I teach adults how to use computers." She is currently writing a book on that subject, with a working title of Climb on the Furniture. Part of her mission is to support arts and education in the town as a volunteer, as an actor and vocalist, and as a corporate sponsor. She is on the board of the Women’s Alliance of the Federated Church of Rochester, a member of the White River Valley Players, a soprano in the Rochester Madrigal Singers and the Federated Church Choir, a member of the Selectboard of the Town of Rochester, and a volunteer at the Rochester School. As a member of the Rochester School Technology Committee, she conducts computer software classes for the teachers during in-service days. She gives freely of her time, helping to produce the Fourth of July Parade and Celebration, organizing receptions for the Rochester Chamber Music Society concerts, recruiting volunteers for Summernight, and setting up the park for the Harvest Fair. She is a frequent visitor to the Park House, Rochester’s assisted living facility for our elders.

Mickey Carter, vice president and director of marketing, grew up on a Northern Maine potato farm and came to Vermont in 1980. She moved to Rochester in the fall of 2001, after playing drums in the orchestra for the White River Valley Players for her second season. A graduate of Dartmouth College, Mickey is a lighting designer, stagehand, and movie set dresser, with a membership in the IATSE Local #919 – Vermont Stage Employees and Local #481 – New England Studio Mechanics. As a union member, she has been active in apprentice education, organizing workshops and sponsoring young stagehands, with an emphasis on safety ("Keep your eyes open and your mouth shut!"). She is a percussionist for the Middlebury Community Wind Ensemble and the dance band "Roustabout." As a musician and theatre professional, she embraces Clovis Point’s community presence, and contributes materially to the arts in the community. Her most recent project has been producing a seminar and master class with Dom Famularo, international drum clinician and motivational speaker, at the Rochester School.
